Browfnields Redevelopment

The The Rules of the City of New York establish affordable housing siting supports and grant program funding for brownfields redevelopment (§43.14). These rules set standards for financial assistance to brownfield redevelopment projects, including eligible projects, types of grants available, appropriate activities, and application and disbursement processes. It prioritizes harnessing brownfields to create infill solutions to the city’s affordable housing shortage and provides guidance for community stakeholders considering redeveloping brownfield sites.

The city’s code related to health and mental hygiene includes a chapter on Mobile Food Vending (§6), providing detailed unit classifications (§6-03), extensive supply and equipment requirements (§6-04, §6-05), addressing records, permits, inspections and violations, and special permission for vending by veterans to occur on the sidewalks surrounding public parks (§6-13).
