These model ordinances for farmland preservation create a farmland preservation district within a community. One version does not allow non-farm residential uses within the farmland preservation district; the other version allows some non-farm residential uses within the farmland preservation district with a conditional use permit. The ordinances restrict the district to agricultural and related uses and establish required criteria for rezoning land out of the farmland preservation district.
