Transfer of Development Rights

The county’s code authorizes transfer of development rights (TDR) to preserve agricultural land, open space, critical wildlife habitat, and rural character (§8-5-10). TDR standards outline the application process and required analysis, provide criteria for sending and receiving parcels, and cover technical aspects of the TDR program.
