Creative Placemaking

This article looks at how creative placemaking can encourage community development. It states that creative placemaking contributes to community development by focusing on human capital, reactivating areas for economic development, and providing a shared stewardship of community identity. Additionally, it notes how economic development can contribute to creative placemaking by bringing in private capital, managing funds, and by building public-private partnerships. It concludes by recommending an opportunity to refine evaluation efforts and advises that there is room to increase collaboration between these two fields.
