Transit-Oriented Development

This article evaluates the effects of new rail transit service in suburban areas on residential development. The author found higher system ridership, more vacant land zoned for residential and mixed-use purposes, greater shares of nonresidential land, and higher shares of the White population were associated with more residential development.
