This report documents the growth of the Forest Service’s “fire” budget over a period of 20 years, and its impact on recreation, restoration, planning, and other activities of the Forest Service. It emphasizes on the annual depletion of the agency’s resources on assets pertaining to firefighting instead of restoration projects.
