This law authorizes and promotes the continued use of prescribed burning for ecological, silvicultural, and wildfire management purposes. It promotes the uses and benefits of prescribed fire, the value of public outreach initiatives, and the need for continued prescribed burner training. It protects prescribed burners from civil liability based on certain criteria.
