Wildland-Urban Interface

This act requires limitations on prescribed burns and prohibits the Forest Service from authorizing a prescribed burn (i.e., a planned fire intentionally ignited) on Forest Service land based on the assessment through the national fire danger rating system. A prescribed burn can be authorized subject to coordination with the applicable state government and local fire officials.
