Scenic View Protection

This report demonstrates how crowdsourcing data and visualization techniques can be used to identify and protect the Richmond Riverfront viewshed. It begins by describing public engagement techniques to create an inventory of river views. Then, it discusses how spatial analysis resulted in an overlay that highlights preferred viewing areas. It concluded by visualizing areas with poor accessibility along the river, identifying spaces that require protection to preserve views, and summarizing how new geospatial techniques, like Geodesign, can be used to protect scenic resources.
