Scenic View Protection

This article describes a viewshed analysis process that uses GIS to protect scenic vistas in Kent, Connecticut. The methodology uses environmental, topographic, and elevation information to identify areas to protect around horizon lines. This study helped determine the extent of the Horizonline Conservation District to protect scenic ridges.
