Scenic View Protection

The town’s scenic roads code protects scenic roads, surrounding trees, and stone walls. The scenic road designation process includes a public hearing and review to identify if scenic roads meet criteria for protection, including the presence of trees and stone walls near the proposed scenic road (§160-3). Work projects that may impact trees or stone walls along scenic roads must obtain permits and abide by criteria that protects existing conditions (§160-6).
