Scenic View Protection

The village’s zoning code requires viewshed buffers in large tract subdivisions. It refers to viewshed buffers as conserved and undisturbed land. This requirement aims to preserve natural views from roadways, screening elements like parking lots and other features. Commercial corridors are also expected to protect views from the road (§151.085).
