Outdoor Lighting

This report was produced by the “Task Force to Study Lighting Efficiency and Light Pollution in Maryland” created by the state’s general assembly. The purpose of the Task Force was to study the cost, extent, and consequences of inefficient public lighting and light pollution in the State, and the benefits of alternative improvements. The report offers a number of recommendations for new lighting standards and practices at the state and local levels, as well as additional procedural actions to implement those recommendations.
