Outdoor Lighting

This model ordinance with commentary from Hunterdon County, NJ, seeks to prevent the negative impacts of misdirected or excessive light caused by inappropriate or misaligned light fixtures producing glare, light trespass,and skyglow. The model ordinance offers definitions, general requirements for all uses, and additional specific requirements for nonresidential uses, residential uses, agricultural uses, recreation and sports facilities, and roadways.
