Outdoor Lighting

The city’s comprehensive plan addresses outdoor lighting. In the Conservation chapter, a section on Noise/Light Pollution notes the benefits of reducing light pollution and calls for better regulation of light levels and light trespass. The plan sets a goal of developing a more detailed lighting ordinance that regulates illumination levels, types of lighting, shielding and placement of lighting and heights of light to minimize light trespass.
