Outdoor Lighting 

The township addresses outdoor lighting in its zoning code through an ordinance last updated in 2001 based on dark-sky principles (§2110).

The code lists plan submittal requirements for lighting. General provisions address shielding, downward direction, and full-cutoff design; light intensity; light measurement; lamp options and prohibited lighting types; and hours of lighting. Additional standards are provided for freestanding pole lighting, building-mounted lighting, window lighting, and sign lighting. The code lists exempted lighting types.
