Home Occupations

This report examines home-based business trends and corresponding local regulatory approaches and includes a model ordinance. Individual chapters introduce the report; discuss emerging trends in home-based businesses and entrepreneurship; analyze existing home occupations regulations from Greater Phoenix (p.26-67); address the potential impacts, positive and negative, of home-based business operations and regulations (p.87); present recommendations for Maricopa County communities, which address the customary sections of home occupations regulations (p.102).

The provisions of the model ordinance address purpose and intent, general conditions, definitions, class I home-based businesses, class II home-based businesses, operational standards, and administrative procedures.
