Form-Based Zoning

This article examines how cities and towns became increasingly concerned with their conventional zoning that they began using more negotiable development processes. It highlights how negotiable development processes were a precursor to form-based coding due to its flexible nature. It includes aspects of the urban form that directly affect the public realm as well as key difference between conventional zoning and form-based zoning.
