Form-Based Zoning

This guide is designed to inform municipalities in the Chicago metropolitan region on what a form-based code is and the methods that can be used for implementation. It includes 3 steps that are broken down in detail in preparing and developing a form-based code. The three steps are:

  1. Scoping
  2. Assessing Existing Conditions
  3. Visioning and Creating Regulations

This guide serves the purpose of making more livable spaces in the region and it sees this regulating tool as a way to do it.
