age-friendly communities
The county’s zoning code provides incentives for affordable residential developments that serve target populations. §26-89-050(C-3) grants a density bonus to residential developments that include senior housing and §26-89-060(B-3) permits additional incentives to be given to residential developments that provide affordable housing for seniors or childcare facilities.
Tiny Houses and Micro-Apartments
The county's zoning code defines and regulates micro-apartments. It defines "micro apartments" as multifamily dwelling units with less than 500 ft2 of living area (§26-02-140). It permits micro-apartments in one residential district as a fractional dwelling unit for density calculation purposes (§26-24-030).
