This report explores the relationship between siting considerations – human and wildlife – and wind energy project costs and future site suitability. It studies Avian, Radar, and “Public Engagement” considerations. It suggests that these considerations can increase project cost, thus influencing wind siting decisions.
The report provides an overview of the wind energy development process (p.8). It advises long-term land use planning consider wind energy; to reduce uncertainty and potentially negative externalities related to development (p.31).
