This interactive map contains over 130,000 contaminated sites across the U.S. evaluated for their renewable energy development potential. The map complements the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) RE-Powering America’s Land initiative. An additional document describes, data sources, along with mapping and screening methods.

Users can filter screening criteria by technology – wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass. Each site record includes further site status documentation, including prior uses and remediation activities.

A state policies tab provides an overview of state renewable energy programs, policies, and standards.
