This guide outlines the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) voluntary, 5-tiered guidelines for assessing and mitigating potential risks to “species of concern.” As voluntary guidelines, these are to be implemented in parallel to all relevant state and local regulations. It includes a collection of recommended practices for wind energy site selection, development, and decommissioning (pp.49-52).
