Wind Energy

The county’s comprehensive plan establishes supportive goals and policies for wind energy systems. It promotes the implementation of wind energy as a general county goal (p.2.3). Land use policies 1.6 and 1.7 support net metering and promote development of commercial wind energy conversion systems (WECS) (p.2.4). It permits small WECS in all districts with a discretionary use permit and commercial WECS with a discretionary use permit in certain agricultural districts (p.6.5).
