Wind Energy

The city’s comprehensive plan inventories wind resources, sets goals and objectives for wind energy development, and assesses the compatibility of wind energy systems with existing land uses. It includes two wind energy objectives with subsequent implementation actions (p.3-27). It discusses wind energy in the context of state and local programs (Energy Element p.11). It supports further development of small-scale wind energy systems, while noting that the city’s location in a migratory flyway may hinder the development of commercial, large-scale systems (Energy Element p.10).
