Wind Energy

The county’s land use code defines and regulates small wind energy systems (§101.1.7). It allows small wind energy systems in certain districts with a discretionary use permit, subject to use-specific standards (§§104.3.5.9; 104.5.6.22; 104.8.5.34; 104.29.8; 104.6.5.25; 104.7.5.33). It includes location, height, FAA, appearance, and noise standards (§108.7.24). Wind energy systems must be setback at distances based on total system height from property lines and dwellings on adjacent property (§108.7.24.2).
