Wind Energy

The city’s land use code permits small wind energy systems (SWES) by right as accessory uses in all districts, subject to use-specific standards (§152.117.A). It regulates SWES size via setback, height, and rated capacity standards. It does not impose maximum height standards for SWES on lots greater than one acre (§152.117.C). It includes design, noise, interference, and fencing standards. It provides for variations to these standards with a discretionary use permit (§152.005).
