age-friendly communities
The city’s zoning code establishes a childcare facilities impact mitigation fee (§3.45). Developers of mixed-use or non-residential projects are required to pay this fee to offset the anticipated cost of childcare and to generally support the development of more childcare services for the community.
Short-Term Residential Rentals
The city’s business taxes and licensing title includes a chapter on short-term rentals regulating this use within the city (Chapter 5.10).
The ordinance includes a lengthy definition section that includes definitions for “on-site owner short-term rental” and “short-term rental unit,” the city’s two categories of short-term residential rentals (§5.10.030). It provides information and guidance on applying for short-term rental permits (§5.10.060). The ordinance notes that short-term rentals (non-owner-occupied) are prohibited in R-1 and R2 zones and provides for the amortization of existing units in these zones (§5.10.070, §5.10.075).
The ordinance details operational requirements (§5.10.090) and procedures for operators and renters (§5.10.100), and addresses violations and enforcement (§5.10.120).
