This report proposes a list of indicators that local governments can use to examine how well older adults can age in place. The indicators are based on existing research and rely on data that is readily available to local governments. Indicators are grouped into three broad categories: Housing, Transportation, and Services. Each of these categories has community characteristics that each have one or more concrete indicators linked to a data source.
