Accessory Dwelling Units

This report includes a section on accessory dwelling units as a housing option that responds to changing demographics. This section lists synonymous terms, highlights the reasons for choosing to live in or build and ADU, and profiles specific ADU projects.

Age-Friendly Communities

This report discusses the need for a diversity of housing options to cope with changing demographics. It introduces the problem, describes creative solutions through case studies, and concludes with a rendering of a custom-designed building, “The Open House,” which is flexible enough to accommodate three different household living arrangements at 1,000 square feet. The report was adapted from an exhibition of the same name at the National Building Museum.

Housing Supply Planning

This report encourages increasing housing options for people of all ages, life stages, abilities, and incomes. Part two explores creative solutions to providing more diverse housing types. Part three discusses "The Open House" concept to be a flexible space that can accommodate roommates, extended family, and older couples.
