This briefing paper highlights successful supportive service programs that are helping older adults age in place in dense, less dense, and sparsely populated neighborhoods. Examples from both public and private organizations are featured. It encourages local government officials in all communities to strategically plan livable communities, to demonstrate the impact of current and proposed programs, and to take advantage of opportunities in the Affordable Care Act.
