Report a broken linkage-friendly communities
This briefing paper shares the results of a survey of 944 planners about their role in creating family friendly communities. The survey tracked planners’ attitudes towards families in their communities, actions taken to support families, and barriers planners face in the process. Most planners had positive attitudes towards families, faced surmountable barriers, and implemented a diverse array of actions to better support families. The authors conclude with a brief discussion of the relationship between family friendly planning via impact fees and crime.
