This article explores Rhode Island’s efforts to become more age-friendly. The authors used a literature review, focus groups, interviews, surveys, and observation of projects and programs to identify six key questions that guide the central observations. The Appendix (p. 12) includes a set of recommendations organized in the following categories:

  1. Communication and Information
  2. Transportation
  3. Economic Security
  4. Community and Social Engagement
  5. Food Security and Nutrition
  6. Housing
  7. Support to Stay at Home
  8. Healthcare Access
  9. Open/Public Spaces and Public Buildings.
