This JAPA article discusses the importance of providing public space for children by looking at four sites that have successfully promoted diversity and intermixing. Specifically, the article focuses on public schools, parks, and neighborhood community centers in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and the San Fernando Valley, where the author conducted field work with children, teachers, and administrators.
