This JAPA article asks children, rather than parents, their neighborhood preferences and compares the results demographically and spatially. Children in cities and suburbs differ in what they perceive to be positive and negative aspects of a neighborhood, which correspond with differences in neighborhood features. It also discusses the relevance of these findings for planning research and practice.
