This case study shares how East Lansing, Michigan has worked to improve quality of life through comprehensive planning, downtown development, housing, transportation, and parks initiatives. It shares some of the challenges the city has faced, particularly regarding rental housing and the height of downtown buildings, and discusses the importance of participation as a good governance practice.
