age-friendly communities

This guide was designed to inform local Canadian governments on how to evaluate age-friendly initiatives. It includes a list of 43 indicators organized by domain (p. 2), which include:

  1. Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
  2. Transportation
  3. Housing
  4. Social Participation
  5. Respect and Social Inclusion
  6. Civic Participation and Employment
  7. Communication and Information
  8. Community Support and Health Services
  9. Health and Social Outcomes for Seniors

Each domain is described in detail, and suggested measurement methods and tools are provided by indicator theme. A summary of tools is provided in Chapter 5 (p. 55). A helpful graphic summarizing the guide’s contents is provided in Chapter 6 (p. 72).
