Benefits of Compact, Mixed Use Development

This report asks whether compact development leads to motor vehicle energy conservation, measured in vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and CO2 emissions. It includes a literature review, forecasts of energy savings in different development scenarios, and policy and research recommendations.
