Benefits of Compact, Mixed Use Development

This article reviews literature showing that walkability is related to higher home prices and concludes that this premium is related to policy restrictions. It argues that removing barriers on the free market will allow developers to meet the demand for housing in walkable areas, lowering the cost of housing and improving a city’s reputation.
