Active Transportation | Built Environment and Health
This report introduces planners to the connections between health and transportation policy and to the federal surface transportation bill, looks closely at three modes of transportation, and discusses three key issues. It summarizes the four principles of healthy, equitable transportation policy and identifies 11 policy and program priorities. Chapter 4 specifically talks about walking and bicycling.
Social Equity
This report looks at the relationship between transportation, health, and equity for different travel modes and explores how this topic relates to economic development, food systems, and injury prevention. It also provides a policy framework to guide transportation policy at all levels.
