This article distinguishes between density and overpopulation, testing whether either of these trends leads to social disorganization in Honolulu. It seeks to confirm Jane Jacobs’ idea that high density is not associated with poor health and welfare like overcrowding is, but finds that density is actually associated with various health and social disorganization rates.
