Built Environment and Health

This article used a single index of walkability compared to health-related outcomes to establish a connection between development patterns and factors that affect chronic disease in King County, Washington. It shows that single-use, low-density development leads to worse health and environmental outcomes than communities with land use mix, street connectivity, and residential density.
