Built Environment and Health

This article lays out the connections between the built environment and health and introduces the Social Determinants of Health and Environmental Health Promotion. Figure 1 displays this conceptual framework, which aims to promote better collaboration between planners and public health officials. It also discusses the challenges of conducting research on the health impact of planning interventions.
