Green Building

This functional plan identifies three green building strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency by 2030. It encourages energy efficient new construction, retrofitting residential buildings to be more energy efficient, and increasing the energy efficiency of public, commercial, and industrial buildings. The functional plan envisions that, with these strategies, by 2030 existing homes and businesses will use 36% less energy and new construction will use 30% less energy than those today.
