Green Building

This functional plan outlines goals for 2040, including: certifying 100% of public buildings as green, reducing energy consumption by 20%, and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by 90%. It describes several actions that have currently been taken and strategies for the future which include: a green building incentive program, green affordable housing standards, an energy efficiency training program, and the implementation of “Eco-Districts”. The functional plan also highlights best practices from a case study in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
