Social Equity

This briefing paper considers the social determinants health from a regional perspective. It discusses the relationship between the fields of public health and planning and lays out the regional conditions necessary for achieving health equity, which include leadership from marginalized communities, a clear understanding of current conditions, partnerships between public health and planning, health impact assessments, and policy change.
