This article poses important questions about Latino New Urbanism (LNU) and other ethnic-based reformulations of urban practices. The discussion centers around the potential of LNU to address ethnoracial and class difference, to mask structural problems, and to either continue to oppress or to liberate Latino residents of Los Angeles. It claims that LNU has outlived its usefulness and calls for a greater understanding of intersectional identities.
