Hazard Mitigation
This article investigates the integration of hazard mitigation and historic preservation planning at the state level. It surveys state plans throughout the country and characterizes the strength of their integration. The article also examines this integration by evaluating the suitability of publicly available spatial data for identifying flood-exposed historic resources in Kentucky, Florida, and Colorado.
Historic Preservation
This article assesses historic preservation and hazard mitigation plans to determine how integrated these efforts are at the state level. It also looks at the availability of data on the flood exposure of historic structures at the state level and finds that better quality data is needed to assist in planning efforts.
