The city’s codified ordinances regulate the process for designating a historic district and for altering the exterior of properties in historic districts (§8.405-425.14). It formalizes a relationship with the Washtenaw County Historic District Commission, explains the process of city acquisition of historic resources, and defines the boundaries of the city’s 14 designated historic districts.
