Green Stormwater Infrastructure

The city’s comprehensive plan proposes the use of several green infrastructure tactics and natural preservation methods for water resource conservation. It includes policies to improve stormwater infiltration and filtration with natural vegetation and pervious surfaces (RC-1.7) and use bioswales, vegetation, and retention ponds to reduce runoff pollution (RC-1.9). It also promotes the use of permeable surface materials (RC-2.6). The comprehensive plan includes several additional policies that touch on the preservation of natural features to maintain watershed hydrological performance (Goal RC-1).
